Greetings! I am guessing you are here for some help. That is a courageous step, and I applaud you for seeking some assistance. I am here to help, and I enjoy working with people to find what is effective for them in helping to resolve issues, whatever they may be. My experience is in mental health counseling, and I am well-versed in working with people who are experiencing some negative impact on their life from stressful situations, mental health issues, or history of trauma. Our brains are magnificent things, and sometimes what they do to help us survive in one situation can mess up our lives in a different situation. And sometimes they overload or get burnt out from the challenges life hands us. My goal is to help you and your brain recover from and cope with these "hard knocks" so that you can overcome the obstacles in your life and achieve your goals. When we work together, we can identify measurable targets to work toward, or just chat. I want to make sure you get what you want out of our interactions. Even if all you need is a safe place to process your thoughts and feelings. About me: I obtained my BA in Psychology in 1996 from Susquehanna University and my MSW from the University of Georgia School of Social Work in 2001, after which I worked as a clinician providing Intensive Family Intervention services, individual counseling, and EMDR. I have experience in working with mood disorders (including Bipolar Disorder), trauma and abuse recovery, anger management, domestic violence, co-parenting, anxiety disorders, career and academic goal attainment, life adjustment issues, and self-injury. I have also worked abroad and have experience working with diverse populations. I look forward to hearing from you so that we can begin our journey together on the path toward achieving your personal goals.
